A surfeit of Ponds. A plague of Ponds. Still, it was rather funny. Walked in the door to find Matt Smith Doctor Who on the telly. Sadly, I'd missed the whole fish custard scene (which I still can't get over it being almost completely cut in the BBC America version, especially as it's an important scene, as in constantly referred back to, so nice one, BBC editors) but I did get my bum on the couch in time for the great 'I'm the Doctor' line.

So that was Pond #1.

Pond #2 was on Supernatural, of all places, with Jewel Staite from Firefly no less, using the alias Amy Pond. Coincidence? Homage? Severe drought in available character names?

That was a very unsatisfying lunch in the park. I had to break off halfway through a scene, and I hate doing that, though I really wasn't on a roll per se, just trying to get down a scene I thought of on Saturday but still haven't managed to get down on paper because stuff keeps getting in the way.

I just wanted to finish it because Neal and Peter are aboout to kick off into a very savage fight. Neal has just accused Peter of only ever dropping by for two reasons, one being illegal search and seizure. Neal has struck the target and they're about to start slinging and flinging, but, well, it might as well be the old lunch time bell from high school, grumble. Back into your corners, boys. Round two, whenever.

I have been to WalMart at midnight, & returned with a rawhide bone.
I have been to Walmart at midnight, & you should not go there alone.

Heh. Braved the grim, freezing day for a quick lunchtime run to the shops. It is so cold. And I suppose you're all thinking well it should be all grim and freezing cold in December, but it's December, man. I know this is just all part of some fiendish plot to lull me into thinking I can give chocolates as presents this year and then the day will dawn a blazing and blistering 45C and the expensive euro-chocs will just be greasy stains in the bottom of the box. Fool me once, etc, etc. But in the meantime, crikey, it's cold.

(last) Wed: Still haven't thawed yet. Missed my bus this morning, just missed it too, because it had the effrontery to be on time for once when I was running slow due to cold (I couldn't button my blouse with numb fingers). So I had to wait another hour in the dark and cold. Not fun (well, it did remind me of some UK holiday unfun, but then I'm usually dressed for it, not in thin office clothes).

Spent most of last night uploading photos and trying to fix pc error (Win 7 hates McAfee and Dell software, there are conflicts) so there wasn't much tv viewing or any writing or typing (sigh). I did find the B/W Supernatural episode on cable, though. I'd forgotten, or rather, traumatically repressed, the sight of the lederhosen. And now I will have to do so again (shakes head as if to flick out the offending vision).

Rain is good, we need the rain, I like rain (but I'd been looking forward to my banana lounge and a big book all year). I'm also having tech problems enough to drive me to tears and my sole NYE invite got washed out. Sigh.

King Arthur wants you to buy his flour. I'm sorry, a friend sent me an Arthur monogrammed box in the post, and I'm delighted. Also delighted with the contents, and the hot water bottle has already been deployed, because it's touched on 20C here and that's the temperature at which I start to turn blue, soft southerner that I am.

Ouch. I just accidentally spoiled myself for Torchwood but good. And it kinda puts a thick black line through just about anything I was going to dribble about in today's post, and time's up on writing that anyway.
