mockturle06: merlin in a hat (lom radio times)
Weird day. Well, it's daylight saving which always discombobulates, but then I was a'googling and discovered the nekkid actor I was ogling yesterday is a political blogger. Well, well, well. Turns out young Octavian is a flag waving Democrat. Who knew? Well, you did, probably, but I've not had much time to wander on the webby, except this morning because I'm annoyed and grumpy. Woke up annoyed and grumpy. Went to bed annoyed and grumpy.

Which isn't to say yesterday wasn't enlivened by oiled and nekkid Simon Woods, oiled and nekkid James Purefoy, a young skinny McAvoy and two hours of Winchester Brothers.

ANOTHER awful Brit film whose only surprise is that Sean Pertwee - the hallmark of a bad movie - isn't in it. - Daily Record

Ouch! Cruel, but sadly true, too. Also, it made me smirk. Sorry Sean, but it did. I had to sit through The Last Drop, afterall. Twice.

Last night I stayed up capping The Last Drop. Yep, that's me, watching the crap movies so you don't have to. And what a grenade I threw myself on this time. Oh dear. Starring Fox, Spall, Skarsgård and Pertwee, you might think you're in for a ripping WWII flick. Even when you realise it's "son of" (to a man) you think, sweet, eye candy.

It's not enough, I swear. This is one of the worst, most bladly acted, completely idiot fillums I've sat through in ages. Since the 90s, pretty much.

Anyway, I undersand that in picture posts such as this it's tradition to provide some sort of description of the plot. Tricky, as there isn't one. Basically, a bunch of Brits, a gang of Yanks and two teams of Germans are all after this stash of dead Dutch loot, they all blow the shit out of each other and it's all played for laughs, apparently. Such jolly japes. Meanwhile, the two lead Germans seem to have a bitter falling out of a deeply personal nature. I'm thinking bad breakup, myself. I would have rather watched that film, but never mind.

So without further adieu, I present to you the story of a wartime romance gone wrong...

No tongue. That's what I want from a lunch: no tongue. At least, that was my request when Himself decided to make authentic 30s sandwiches from authentic 30s recipes for our Fred and Ginger double feature. There was a lot of tongue and anchovies going on back in the Great Depression, but we managed to escape with egg and watercress sandwiches and a Waldorfy one.

And Fred and Ginge were fun, too. Made a change from 70s coppers, which I seem to have been on, for a while now.

Friday: Last night I was busy polishing me buddha and buffing me candlesticks, ooo er, vicar. No, it's not a code for anything filthy and fun, just filthy Dickensian char woman stuff. The usual. Also, Inspector Rex not so good to do housework to as me German ain't what it used to be.

Also scrubbed down the stairs, bannister and railings. The state of the stairs and bannister I get, but who swings from the railings like a grubby pawed gibbon, is what I want to know? Also, shoulda done this before I started decking the halls, unless you want to consider the dead roaches hanging from the tinsel as avant garde, in a Mortica Addams kinda way. Goes well with the Xmas floral arrangement I found all broken and snapped off, I suppose (who were the mad monkeys who packed away the Xmas decs last year?).

Oh, and they're taking away Heroes and my Euro cops. Wail! Okay, so they're putting Bones on next week (S2 looks like), but still.

Mystery solved as to where I'd heard Tony Christie's "Avenues and Alleyways" before. Oh yeah, right...

Sorry. It's been stuck in my head since we started devouring The Protectors (it's the theme song, doncha know).

And should I worry that three clicks later I was looking at The Master?
